Alan E. Philbrook

Alan Edward Philbrook, 59, of Gunder, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union, after a battle with cancer.
Graveside services were Monday, Sept. 26, at Bethel Cemetery in rural Osterdock, conducted by Pastor Roland Waterman.
Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point assisted the family.
Alan was born on Oct. 14, 1962, in Quincy, Ill., the son of Herbert and Mildred (Moser) Philbrook. Alan was raised and educated in Guttenberg and was a 1981 graduate of Guttenberg High School.
On June 23, 1990, Alan was united in marriage to Kimberly “Kim” Knospe. Alan worked as a cabinet maker across the United States, spending time in Boston, Seattle, Wisconsin and Iowa. In 2004, Alan attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Janesville. Due to health reasons, he retired after his schooling. Alan really enjoyed his computer games and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kim Philbrook of Gunder; his sister, Vicki (Mike) Ethridge of Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Richard (Jennifer) Philbrook of Oregon, Wis.; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and his baby girl, “Zeva,” the four-legger.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Kay and Keith Knospe; a niece, Nicole Philbrook; a nephew, Darren Knospe; and two sisters-in-law.
