GEIDC awarded $2.7 million to expand social services
On Wednesday, Sept. 14, Gov. Reynolds announced $40 million in grant funding for 24 projects through the Nonprofit Innovation Fund, enabling Iowa non-profits to expand services to help more Iowans.
The Guttenberg Economical and Industrial Development Committee (GEIDC) was awarded a grant through the fund in the amount of $2.7 million to expand social services access and to address Guttenberg’s senior housing needs.
GEIDC will partner with the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics’ Family Resource Center on the project which includes construction of a new structure that will house the Family Resource Center, expanded agency space, the Food Pantry, and senior housing. The property is located next to the Municipal Building on 2nd Street, and is owned by GEIDC.
