Charlene G. Andregg, 93, of Guttenberg, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. 

There will be a private family service at a later date. 

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Charlene was born on July 25, 1929, in Guttenberg, the daughter of John and Georgiana (Dremmel) Andregg.

Charlene attended school at St. Mary’s and then entered the Army and served during the Korean War from November 1953 until she received her discharge on Nov. 17, 1955. 

Charlene was very active in the American Legion Post 373 for many years and also served as Commander. Charlene’s pasttimes included embroidery of quilt blocks which were made into quilts and she also made other quilts for her nieces and nephews. She also made Quilts of Valor given to those who have served our country. She enjoyed her many trips to bingo at the Blind Society in Dubuque and became “Casino Queen” at the boat in Marquette for her many visits. Charlene was always around to help any family member out when they needed it. She will be sadly missed by many.

Charlene is survived by two sisters-in-law, Janice Andregg and Betty Andregg, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Emma Jean Andregg, Joan Lancaster, Anna Stevens, Fran Ulbrich, Ellen Burdeaux; six brothers, twins in infancy, John “Jack” Andregg, Jon Andregg, Gerald Andregg and Richard Andregg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be send to the Guttenberg American Legion Post 373 which meant so much to Charlene. Cards may be sent to 115 Pearl St., Guttenberg, IA 52052.
