The River Ridge defense converges upon SWS runner Lucius Cooley.

River Ridge forces a fumble deep in their own territory Friday night to stop an SWS scoring threat in the first quarter.
River Ridge defeated host Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben 37-26 in a nonconference football game Friday night in Wauzeka.
The Timberwolves scored early with a kickoff return for a TD by Braden Crubel with 11:45 to go in the first quarter to go up 8-0 after the 2-point conversion.
Matthew Nies hit Aidan Gage with a 17-yard TD pass with 7:02 to play in the first period and the 2-point play was good as River Ridge took a 16-0 advantage.
With 6:41 to go in the second quarter, Lucius Cooley scored on a 20-yard TD run as SWS pulled to within 16-6.
The Timberwolves scored on a 3-yard run by Ricardo Barrita with 4:04 left in the first half as River Ridge led 22-6.
SWS got a 62-yard TD run by Evan Payne and a 2-point conversion run by Payne to get to within 22-14 with 5:18 to go in the third period. Cooley scored on an 85-yard run to pull the Blue-Golds within 22-20 late in the third quarter.
River Ridge scored with 9:56 to go in the game on a 4-yard run by Andrew Nies and the 2-point play was good as the Timberwolves led 30-20.
With 4:40 to play, Brennan Wallin had a 17-yard TD run to get SWS to within 30-26.
River Ridge scored on a 5-yard run by Matthew Nies and the extra point was good with 1:12 to go to give River Ridge a hard-fought 37-26 victory.
Nies was 3 of 9 passing for 52 yards and a TD for River Ridge. Nies also gained 57 yards rushing in 9 attempts and a TD. Andrew Nies gained 165 yards on 31 carries and a TD. Barrita had 6 yards on 4 carries with a TD.
Crubel had 1 reception for 31 yards. Gage caught 2 passes for 21 yards and a TD.
Anthony Davis had 10 tackles for River Ridge. Brandon Davis recorded 7 tackles. Matthew Nies had 6 tackles. Andrew Nies had 9 tackles. Ricardo Barrita had 6 tackles. Brody Kielley had 7 tackles. Owen Callahan had 5 tackles. Levi Wehrle had 5 tackles.
