Edith E. Morovits

September 11, 1930 - August 16, 2022

Edith E. Morovits, 91 of Eastman, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Gundersen Area Hospital in Boscobel. 

She was born on Sept. 11, 1930, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Heisz) Duha. Edith married Jack Morovits on Feb. 5, 1951, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman. Together, they raised their family in the Eastman area. She worked at the General Hospital in Prairie du Chien before going to work at Advanced Transformer in Boscobel. She also worked alongside her husband Jack on their dairy farm in rural Eastman. Edith was an excellent cook and loved cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening, and quilting. She liked embroidery and was a talented seamstress. Edith’s husband Jack preceded her in death on May 25, 2011. 

She is survived by her children Bev (Andy) Meiller, Ralph (Jill), Arleen (Gary) Kozelka, Brenda (Randy) DuCharme, Joyce (Duane) Morovits, LuAnn (Jeff) Aultman, and Tracy Morovits; her sister Isabelle Wall and brother Eldon (Sue) Duha; sisters-in-law Lois and Donna Duha, and Bea (Leon) Siverling. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Caroline Walz, Fran, Arnold, Lloyd, and Virgil Duha and Betty DuCharme. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, Rev. Rajendran Anandan concelebrating with Rev. Thomas Huff, with burial in the church cemetery. 

Friends called at the Garrity Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, from 4 - 7 p.m. and also at the church on Monday an hour prior to the Mass.
