Beverly Jean (Merritt) Koecke of Joliet, Ill., passed gently into the loving care of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on June 14, 2022, at Rock Run Memory Care of Joliet, Ill.

 

She was born on Sept. 19, 1934, to Edward and Annette (Ramaker) Merritt of McGregor. She married Paul A. Koecke of Prairie du Chien, Wis., on July 19, 1952. They later lived in Dubuque for many years, and remained very happily married until his death on Oct. 20, 2012.

 

Beverly is survived by her sister-in-law, Esther Merritt; her cousin, Eugene Ramaker; 15 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Paul, Beverly was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wesley “Wes” Merritt of Romeoville, Ill.

 

Beverly’s family remains very grateful to Rock Run Memory Care in Joliet, Ill.

 

A small, private family memorial service will take place at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor at a later date.
