Michael “Mike” Reifschneider, 77, of Guttenberg passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, of a long illness. 

There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg. 

He graduated Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He then went on to University of Iowa where he was a part of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. On Nov. 26, 1966, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Judi Hunter.

Mike was owner of Varns & Hunter (NAPA) alongside Judi until they retired and moved to their home on Esmann Island in Guttenberg. He was a true outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, hiking and boating and he was a true Iowa Hawkeye fan. He most enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren in whom he would share his outdoor enthusiasm. 

He is survived by his wife, Judi, of Guttenberg; daughter, Heidi (Tim) Hess of Walford; sons, Eric Reifschneider of Cedar Rapids, Jon Reifschneider of Marion; grandchildren, Kelly (Ryan) Oldfather of Walford, Ashley Sytsma of Cedar Rapids, Krista and Tyler Hess of Walford, Curtis and Hunter Reifschneider of Marion, Austin Bystry of Calona, Ill., Brian (Erin) Wobbema of Cedar Rapids, Mikala Ealy (fiancé, Nate Carney) of Cedar Rapids, Kady Ullrick of Fort Dodge and great-grandchildren, Emily Oldfather, Blake and Tenley Sytsma, Jessica Wobbema and a brother, Steven Ray Reifschneider (Cathy) of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrna, along with his best friends, Jon Davis and Lulu.
