Joan Kaber-Satter (nee Kramer) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at age 91, while in Prairie Maison. She was born in Eastman on July 3, 1930, to Rose and Reginald Kramer but spent most of her life in Prairie, raising her family and hanging with some awesome best pals, Nellie Bower, Edna Campbell and Monnie Key to mention a few. Prairie is a great place to grow up, and the Kaber family had lots of fun, laughs and memories. The result was a foundation to grow up honest and respectful. Small town America, with great parents. She was married to Rex Kaber from 1950 to the time of his death in 1993. She remarried Rod J. Satter until his death in 2011.

She leaves behind four children, Kathy (Michael) Kruse, Mary Jo (Larry) Hamann, Jon Kaber and Chris (DeAnn) Kaber; her grandkids, C.J. Kruse, Sarah Thorton, Daniel Hamann, Kevin Kaber, and Kyle Kaber. She was also fortunate to have three great-grandsons, Travis Thorton, Dylan Kruse and Dante Kruse.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Roger, Mick and Jerry Kramer.

She will be missed and remembered, and Prairie Maison will surely remember her for her singing talent no one knew she had. “Home, Home on the Range” was her favorite. A heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at Prairie Maison. You are angels.

RIP our sweet Mom.

No service is planned at this time.
