Cejka hurls no-hit gem against Dodgers

Colton Thompson leads off of first base against visiting Dodgeville Thursday.

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks baseball team defeated Dodgeville 2-0 on Thursday afternoon in Prairie du Chien.

Maddox Cejka pitched a 7-inning no-hitter for the Blackhawks. The righthander only allowed 1 walk and struck out 6 on his way to the victory.

The offense was led by Colton Thompson and Ryan Waller, each with 2 hits. Aden McCluskey and Thompson each had a double in the contest. Ty Wagner had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the fifth with a triple that plated Thompson. Thompson had the game’s only other RBI with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth, scoring Seth McEachern.  Owen Oldenburg, Trent Mallat, and Cejka also had hits for the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks improved to 8-5 on the season and 5-1 in the SWC.
