Clark “Ken” Strader Jr., 78, of Guttenberg passed away at the UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be Friday, April 8, from 9-11 a.m. at St. John’s Church, Guttenberg. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. 

Ken Strader was born on April 21, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. to Clark and Mildred (Blough) Strader Sr. On Sept. 21, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mickie Krieg, in Guttenberg. Ken worked as a Service Rep for John Deere until his retirement. Ken loved woodworking, cars, and just being outside. He enjoyed working on the farm and watching the animals. Ken was a very loving man, known for his wonderful sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Mickie, of Guttenberg; children, Todd (Stephanie) of Guttenberg, Scott (Joelle) of Evansdale, Eric (Dawn) Strader of Marion, and Megan Strader of Marion; grandchildren, Staci, Conor, Mara, Caden, McKinzie, and Evan; and brother-in-law, Terry Krieg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ardythe Hagar, and brother-in-law, Walter Hager.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
