Moreland earns all-state recognition

Riley Moreland

MFL MarMac basketball player Riley Moreland has received all-state honors from two organizations. The Iowa Girls Coaches Association named the senior to its second team, while the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association placed her on its third team.

 

Moreland, who was also a unanimous first team selection in the Upper Iowa Conference and named to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association 2A All Region 4 Team, made 48.5 percent off all her field goals and nearly 34 percent of three-point shots. She led the conference champion Bulldogs with 17.4 points and 9 rebounds per game, in addition to averaging 3.3 steals, 2.3 assists and 1.5 blocks.

 

Moreland will play college basketball at the University of Sioux Falls next season.
