Lorraine H. Taake
Lorraine Henry Taake, age 79, of Clayton Center, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Lorraine was born on Jan. 31, 1942, to Leroy and Helen (Kregel) Taake.
He was baptized on Feb. 22, 1942, and confirmed on March 25, 1956, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garnavillo. He attended Hannover Country School and later attended Garnavillo High School, where he graduated with the class of 1960. Lorraine proudly served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Judith Duwe on July 6, 1968. Three children were born to this union.
Lorraine was a lifelong farmer. He cherished his collection of toys and his Oliver Tractors. He was proud of his multi-generational farms and loved the time he spent farming with his children and grandchildren. Lorraine was proud of all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will greatly miss him.
Lorraine is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Taake of Clayton Center; daughters, Marlene (Todd) Hills of Waukon and Lisa (Rich) Clinton of Elkader; son, Roger (Cindy) Taake of Elkader; grandchildren, Dustin (Amber Baker) Clinton, Josh Hills, Steph (Brad) Heims, Jeremy (Heather) Hills, Dylan (Ashley) Clinton, Morgan Taake, Mitchel Taake, Lexi Clinton and Aaron Taake; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Brysen, Hudson, Sadie, Lennox, Willow, Kohen, Jeidy and Mason.
Lorraine was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Croix Hospice, the Elkader Ambulance Service or to a place of your choice.
A graveside service was held on Dec. 2, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Center.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader is assisting the family.
