Kevin W. Wilkinson, 61, of Prairie du Chien, was given back the freedom to be on the road again on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Lancaster, on Sept. 22, 1960, the son of Jerry and Ilene (Sletten) Wilkinson. He graduated from West Grant High School before continuing his education in auto mechanics at Vo-Tech School in Fennimore. Kevin married Debralee Hussmann in 2003. Together, they owned and operated Red’s House of Hair in Prairie du Chien. With the help of Rose and the late Jerry Marrow, they recently fulfilled a life-long dream of Kevin’s in owning his own semi-truck and starting their own business, Last Chance Trucking. He was also First Officer in the Rural Bridgeport & Prairie du Chien Volunteer Fire Department. In recent months, Kevin was amazed and touched by the support of his friends and family, especially his wife, and daughter, Traci. Kevin shared this saying with Deb, “3 times a charm, forever, only, and always.”

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Deb; his children, Nichole (Jason), Kelsey, and Kayden Kreul, and Traci (Levi Donahue) Wilkinson, their children Charleigh Donahue and a baby girl on the way; his father, Jerry Wilkinson; his sister, Karen (Gary) Welter; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ilene Wilkinson.

A Funeral Procession will depart from the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. for the Patch Grove Cemetery in Patch Grove. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the burial at Home-A-Gins Bar and Grill in Mt. Hope. Kevin’s family invites motorcyclists to join the procession.
