Woman guilty of theft from Bagley Fire Department
A 58-year-old Mount Hope woman was sentenced in Grant County Circuit Court on Aug. 4 for theft in a business setting. Jodi Moris was convicted of the theft of less than or equal to $2,500 from the Bagley Fire Department.
A nine-month jail sentence with Huber privileges was imposed and stayed and Moris was placed on probation for one year. As conditions of probation, Moris must pay all costs and surcharges to the Clerk of Court, provide a DNA sample and undergo counseling as indicated by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. She must also write a letter of apology to the Bagley Fire Department and its members. Moris paid the court assessment of $443.
Moris’ son, Ryne Jackley, who was the Bagley Fire Chief, was convicted on July 12 of the theft of less than or equal to $2,500. Jackley, 31, was convicted of theft in a business setting.
Jackley must pay all fines, costs and surcharges to the Clerk of Court, and must provide a DNA sample. Court assessments were $841. As of Aug. 16, Jackley still owed $491 which is due on Sept. 10, 2021.
