Wauzeka-Steuben, River Ridge athletes at State Track
Ralph is Division 3 high jump champion
Members of the Wauzeka-Steuben and River Ridge track and field teams competed in the Division 3 State Track Meet at UW-La Crosse on June 24.
Wauzeka-Steuben senior Gavin Ralph won the championship of the high jump with a leap of 6-3. Ralph’s first-place finish gained 10 points for the Hornets who tied for 19th in the boys division with 12 points.
Lucius Cooley, a Wauzeka-Steuben freshman, garnered 2 points with a seventh-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 42.35. Cooley also took 11th in a preliminary heat of the 110-meter high hurdles in a time of 16.97.
Shayna Graf, a River Ridge freshman, was 19th in the shot put with a toss of 32-4.75.
The River Ridge 3200 relay team of Brett Kerscher, Brad Hoffman, Aidan Gage and Sam White took 15th in a time of 8:59.21.
