Boscobel ends Prairie’s season
Boscobel pulled away late on their way to a 3-2 victory on Thursday to secure a first-round Division 3 Regional win and eliminate the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks for the season.
The game was tied at 2 when Boscobel scored in the top of the seventh when an error allowed the winning run for Boscobel.
Blackhawk pitching struck out 12 Bulldogs while PdC only struck out 3 times. Maddox Cejka took the loss for the Blackhawks, going 3 innings and striking out 4 while allowing 1 hit and 2 runs, only 1 run was earned. Jon Nicholson finished the game for the Blackhawks, allowing 2 unearned runs, and no hits. PdC pitchers issued 9 walks in the game and the team committed 3 errors.
The Prairie offense was led by Nicholson who went 3x4. Chase Fisher and Max Amundson each had an RBI. Seth MacEachern and Nicholson scored the only runs for the Blackhawks.
