Eberhardt finishes 10th in discus

Senior James Eberhardt was Central’s lone representative at last week’s state track and field meet. He entered the event ranked 19th, but improved on his personal best discus throw by over 10 feet, and finished 10th in a strong Class 1A field. Eberhardt’s throw came in at 144 feet, 11 inches.

 

 “One of our goals is to finish with our best performance of the season, especially if we get to have that performance at the Drake Stadium, and James nailed that goal with his last throw. James and coach Tyler Bazyn put in a lot of work getting ready for these moments, and it paid off with personal best throws at the state qualifying meet and the state meet,” said coach Tom Wilwert.
