Hornets host first ever cross country meet
Wauzeka-Steuben held its first ever home cross country meet, the Wauzeka-Steuben Invitational, on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Boys
Kickapoo-LaFarge won the boys meet with 32 team points. Wauzeka-Steuben took second with 41 and River Ridge was third with 49.
Isaac Reichmann was fifth in 20:48.9 to pace the Hornets. Zach Martin was seventh in 21:09.4. Nate Martin was eighth in 21:28.8. Jonah Reichmann was 10th in 21:44.5. Reed Stenner was 11th in 22:03.1. Caydon Lomas was 14th in 23:01.3. Max Cooley was 18th in 23:45.6.
Brett Kerscher took second in 20:08.6 for the Timberwolves. Brad Hoffman was third in 20:44.0. Sam White was 13th in 22:17.2. Aidan Gage was 15th in 23:12.4. Cahill Nichols was 16th in 23:38.1. Seth Breuer was 20th in 26:21.0. Xander Zach finished 21st in 26:30.4.
There were eight teams at the meet.
Girls
Kickapoo-LaFarge won the girls meet with a team total of 22. North Crawford had 49. Wauzeka-Steuben had 77 and River Ridge recorded 78.
Jayda Ralph was 13th for the Lady Hornets in 28:52.7. Maureen Cooley was 14th in 29:49.5. Lily Mitchell was 15th in 30:30.7. Lizzie Udelhoven was 16th in 30:47.5. Regan Kramer was 19th in 32:39.2. Amelia Walz was 22nd in 35:53.0. Grace Zinkle took 24th in 39:41.7.
Faith Webb led the Lady Timberwolves with a ninth place finish in 25:48.4. Jessica Patterson was 11th in 27:51.3. Glenna Marshall was 17th in 31:11.9. Alison West took 20th in 33:58.6. Ruby Breuer finished 21st in 34:11.6.
