A 2020 Crawford County Alzheimer’s fundraising event, a 5K walk and 1K lap swim, will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Hoffman Hall in Prairie du Chien, from 7 to 10 a.m.

In an effort to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s and dementia programs within Crawford County—yet observe coronavirus safety precautions—this event is being safely provided in lieu of the annual Alzheimer’s Walk that started in the county last year.

Participants must check in and register at Hoffman Hall between 7 and 10 a.m. and walk the course or lap swim (22 laps) immediately after check-in. There is a cost for participants, as part of the fundraiser. Culver’s will have custard available. Masks are required, unless swimming.

For more information, or with questions, call the local dementia outreach specialist, Heather Moore, at (608) 723-4288.

Also, to raise funds toward the event, there will be a donation drop off opportunity this Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Lori Knapp Companies, 1100 S. Marquette Rd., in Prairie du Chien, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

All donations stay locally in Crawford County to support those affected by Alzheimer’s or a related dementia.
