Prairie golfers at Darlington
The Prairie du Chien girls golf team started the season on a beautiful Friday morning, Aug. 28, in Darlington.
The Redbirds hosted a nine-hole (par 35) conference meet to kick off the season.
The Blackhawks were paced by Allison Kennedy with a 56 and a solid performance by Kendall Hill at 58.
The Darlington Country Club was in great tournament condition with heavy rough surrounding the small sloping greens, making shots around the greens difficult and unpredictable at best.
Prairie du Chien’s Marie Achenbach shot a career-low 77 and Lydia Seeley carded an 89.
Wisconsin Dells High School won the event with a team score of 194. Lancaster had 203, Southwestern-Cuba City 209, Darlington 216 and Prairie du Chien 280.
