Concrete work has been underway within the past couple of weeks at the Prairie du Chien Marina on St. Feriole Island across from Washington Street Park.

A new sidewalk is being constructed that will connect the current boat dock on the north side of the marina with a boat dock that will be rebuilt on the south end, said Blair Dillman.

Dillman said several buildings that were torn down before he took over the marina will not be replaced on the city-owned property.

Along with the sidewalk and the rebuilt boat dock, Dillman said he will have new street lights installed this year.

“The docks will be for storage of boats in the boat slips,” said Dillman. “As of now, there will be no liquor license and no gas for sale.”

Eventually (maybe next year), Dillman said there will be another boat dock in between the current boat dock to the north and the one that will be rebuilt to the south. He said there is also a possibility in the future of having another boat dock on the Washington Street Park side. “We will have about 100 boat slips, eventually,” he said.

Marina operations were previously run on-site by the Regal family until late 2017.
