Richard “Bud” Bush, 77, of Prairie du Chien, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at his home. 

Richard was born May 7, 1942, to Edward and Lela Matilda (Zabel) Bush in Prairie du Chien. He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School.

Bud worked as a machinist for Wolf Machine in Prairie du Chien for many years. He enjoyed telling people the history of Prairie du Chien.

Bud is survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Tainter, of Reedstown; nephews, Brian (Brenda) Tainter, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Bradley Tainter, of Reedstown; and three great-nephews, Justin (Martie) Tainter, Darrek Tainter and Bryan Tainter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lela Bush; and a sister, Betty May in 2003.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien, with Rev. Miranda Klosterboer as the officiant. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Prairie du Chien.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, of Prairie du Chien, assisted the family with arrangements.
