Edward L. 'Butch' Mabb
Edward L. “Butch” Mabb, 82, of Ferryville, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Gundersen Health System.
Edward was born April 30, 1937, in West Union, Iowa, the son of Ted and Vera (Moore) Mabb. He graduated from West Union High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He married Joan McArthur on Oct. 27, 1962, in Morrison, Ill. Edward worked as a welder for North American Homes from 1972 to 1974. He then worked as a welder for Bituma from 1974 to 1983. Thereafter, he was self-employed until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, clamming, and spending time with family and friends.
Edward is survived by his wife, Joan; his sons, Monte, Mitchell (Linda), Marshall (Angie); and his daughter, Marsha (Brad) Myhre; his grandchildren, Brendon (Sara), Amber, Jacob (Murilla), Jessica (Jake), Clayton (Kirsten), Payton, and Preston; step-grandchildren, Bethany and Sara McCullick; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Hayli, Jase, Colten, and baby Menne; and his brother-in-law, Russell Tope.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Merlin; his sisters, Delores and Patty Ann; his brother, Donnie; and his granddaughter, Chassity.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Lance Wetter officiating, with interment to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
