Louise Annette Kregel, 82, of Guttenberg, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 16, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, followed by a scripture/committal service.

Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery at a later date.

Louise was born on Nov. 1, 1937, in Colesburg, the daughter of Wilson and Letha (Brown) Barnhart.

Louise was baptized at the Methodist Church in Colesburg and later confirmed as an adult at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Louise received her education locally and graduated from the Colesburg High School with the class of 1955. On Aug. 20, 1955, Louise was married to Virgil Kregel at the Methodist Church in Colesburg and this union blessed them with two sons, Gary and Ron. Louise enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and all activities supporting local 4-H programs. In recent years, she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her group of girlfriends.

Louise will be forever loved and cherished by her sons, Gary (Darlene) Kregel of Guttenberg and Ron (Billie Jo) Kregel of Weatherby, Mo.; four grandchildren, Maureen (Jim) Seevers, Travis (Tracy) Kregel and Megan Kregel, all from Guttenberg, and Colby Kregel from Buffalo, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Sienna and Scarlett Seevers.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents and husband Virgil in 2004.

In lieu of flowers, plants and all other styles of sympathy, the family has requested memorials and they can be sent to either the Clayton County 4-H or the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital Auxiliary. Both organizations meant a great deal to Louise.
