Local police help bust suspected drug dealer

A suspected La Crosse drug dealer is in jail following a collaborative investigation involving the West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG) along with the La Crosse and Prairie du Chien Police Departments and Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The Prairie du Chien Police Department was actively investigating a local drug dealer when they learned the dealer was going to La Crosse to purchase a large amount of methamphetamine from a supplier, according to a press release from the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to prior drug investigations, law enforcement determined the supplier was Sandy Xiong, 30, of La Crosse.

On Monday, Feb. 10, La Crosse Police followed Xiong to a south side La Crosse business, where she sold meth to the Prairie du Chien drug dealer, authorites said.

At the time of her arrest, Xiong had 116.5 grams of the drug. A search warrant was granted and police found another 212 grams of methamphetamine at Xiong’s residence, the release said. The total 328.5 grams of methamphetamine is worth an estimated $7,500 to $9,100, according to law enforcement.

Xiong is facing the following charges: possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and a probation hold. Zachary Pupp, 38, was arrested at Xiong’s residence and is facing similar drug related charges.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be made.

Members of the MEG unit are the La Crosse and Vernon County Sheriff’s Offices and Campbell Police Department.
