Rodney P. Bartholomew, 85, of Boscobel, passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Gundersen Hospital in Boscobel surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 22, 1934, in Steuben, the son of Floyde and Eva (Bellis) Bartholomew.

He married Bernadine “Bunny” DuCharme on Dec. 1, 1956, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman. Rodney graduated from Wauzeka High School. He retired from John Deere at Horicon Works. After retirement, he worked for the village of Eastman for several years. He was a proud member of the Eastman Fire Department. He and Bunny later moved to Juneau, where they managed apartments. He had many interests, including time spent at Fish Lake camping, and swimming, along with playing pool, bowling, golfing, trap shooting, and hunting and fishing, with his good friend Dale Check. We will miss his teasing, easy laughter, generosity and stories of his growing up on the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadine “Bunny” Bartholomew, of Boscobel; four daughters, Robin Fisher of Muscoda, Lisa Brady of Beaver Dam, Andrea (Wayne) Auld of Sobiski, Donna Strook of Ripon; two sons: Shane Bartholomew of McGregor Ia., Scott Bartholomew of Juneau; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Audrey (Rodney) Daugherty, of Raymore Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bernard Bartholomew and Ben Bartholomew; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Bartholomew.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.
