Robert J. Heilmann, 89, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

He was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Fennimore, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Stivarius) Heilmann. 

Robert worked for Voth Oil, Balk’s Sunoco and Harold DuCharme’s DX Station in Prairie du Chien. He later retired after working for many years for the city of Prairie du Chien. 

He is survived by his sons, Chuck (Linda), Terry (Donna) and Doug (Vicki) Heilmann; his sister, Dorothy Trameri; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo and Bernard; along with a sister, Ann Forbes.

According to Robert’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. 

The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
