Carol Ann Schaal, age 79, of Guttenberg, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 6, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Gary Hatcher. Visitation was before services at the church.

Interment was at the Guttenberg City Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Carol was born Nov. 20, 1940, in rural Monona to Marvin and Marcella (Wilke) Jarms.

Carol attended school in Monona, she worked for the Guttenberg speaker factory for a short time before she was united in marriage on April 23, 1963, to Lyle Schaal at St. John’s Church in Guttenberg, where Carol remained a very active member of the ladies aid group.

Carol spent her married life working the farmland that she and her husband Lyle had together, no matter if it was bailing hay or running meals out to him during harvest, she was a very happy person.

Left to cherish Carol’s memory is her brother, Dan (Kim) Backhaus and several other relatives and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

In lieu of flowers and all types of memorials the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Carol’s name.
