Adeline Maxine Hammel, 93, of McGregor, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at Great River Care Center, McGregor. Adeline Maxine was born Jan. 22, 1926, to George and Mildred (Lamphere) Ingles at home in Lodomillo Township, Littleport. She attended country school in Mays Prairie in Waterville.

In her younger years, Adeline worked as a waitress at Indian Isle for many years. Adeline also worked at 3M in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She loved to travel, read and play cards.

Adeline is survived by three daughters, Linda Witter (Brian Meyer), Laurie (Keith) Hallberg and Lisa Hammel, all of McGregor; grandchildren, Allison (Rick) Thomas, Beth Witter (Rick Mezera), Janet Hallberg (Jason Becker), Robert (Tresa) Hallberg, Amber Jones (Michael Klinge) and Jed (Stephanie) Jones; great grandchildren, Elijah, Bailee, Mattie, Addison, Ryan, Grace, Chesney, Evelyn, Walkeen and Whitaker; one sister, Donna Trappe of Monona; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Ingles and Imojean Ingles; one brother-in-law, J.P. Moorhouse and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adeline was preceded in death by three children, Marsha Ray Hammel, George Joseph Hammel and Michael Robert Hammel; one grandson, Kurt Witter; parents, George and Millie Ingles; and her siblings, Ernest (Josephine) Ingles, Arthur (Vivien) Ingles, Ray Ingles, Hank (Florence) Ingles, Howard Ingles, Pearl (Harold) Ingles Heideman and Agnes Ingles Moorhouse.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Giard United Methodist Church, with Rev. Deb. Parkison as the officiant.

A lunch and time for fellowship will be held at Maggie’s Diner following the service.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor is helping the family with arrangements.
