Fredrick T. Reimer “Tom” of Guttenberg, passed away of cancer complications at 66 years old on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, surrounded by family.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Visitation was before services at the church.

A celebration of life was held at Lakeside Ballroom following the service.

Tom was born on Jan. 19, 1953, to Fredrick and Bernice (Durey) Reimer in Dubuque. He was a true businessman – he owned and operated Reimer Home Improvements in Waterloo, and often employed his kids during summer breaks to instill a good work ethic. Tom, ever the outdoorsman, could almost always be found fishing, hunting, or causing a ruckus on the river. Everyone who knew him, knew how he loved to have a good time - he always was the life of the party (although we know you always would “Walk the Line” and not get into too much trouble).

He is survived by his loving wife, Dottie; his children, Nicole (Michael) Cherry, Tanya (Aaron) Michael, Vicki (Dana) Slade, Kerry (Kathryn) Merrfield, and Traci (David) Marcum; 12 grandchildren, Rylan and Hayley Cherry, Jacob and Daniel Michael, Rebekah and Jessica Slade, Joshua, Nicholas, and Natalie Merrfield, McKenzie, Matthew, and Andrew Marcum, and countless family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack and Gary Reimer, and sister, Darleen Hoffman.

He will be terribly missed by all who knew him, and we can’t wait to hear your “fish stories” when we meet again.
