Prairie du Chien’s offensive line gets a good initial push against Fennimore as the Blackhawks’ head coach, Cory Koenig, looks on.
The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks football team hosted a scrimmage with Westby and Fennimore Friday evening at Prairie du Chien High School.
Along with the round robin varsity action, junior varsity teams participated as well on the nice, sunny day.
A good crowd enjoyed seeing Prairie du Chien as they prepared for the upcoming season, which begins on Saturday, Aug. 24 with a noon game versus La Crosse Aquinas at UW-La Crosse.
All scrimmaging teams and coaches saw areas that their teams need to work on. There was also plenty of enthusiasm and encouragement as the Blackhawks’ displayed a good ground game as well as some nice passes and catches. The defense also stepped up well against two opponents who are generally tough each year.
