Straight off The Voice stage, Sarah Grace and her band The Soul will perform at the Prairie Dog Blues Fest this weekend.

If you’ve never seen the absurd talents of the Prairie Dog Blues Fest musicians, this weekend will be your shot to see them up close. This festival gives concert-goers the rare opportunity to be front and center, within just a few feet of world-class musical acts—and you don’t even have to be a VIP. (Courier Press file photo)

The chance to see the sassy Indie/Roots singer and musical powerhouse Sarah Grace, a 2018 finalist from The Voice, is now. She will be in Prairie du Chien Saturday, July 27, performing on the Prairie Dog Blues Festival stage at 4:30 p.m.

From Houston, Texas, Sarah Grace’s performance of “Amazing Grace” on The Voice, can be described as her signature moment, establishing her as a legitimate artist. The recording immediately shot to #3 on the overall iTunes charts, gained 1 million YouTube views, and has lived on the Gospel/Christian charts of iTunes ever since. The young trumpet major at the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts now tours nationally with her band, Sarah Grace and The Soul, comprised of equally-talented young musicians. They have won multiple awards, including being named as the “Best Newcomer” for 2019 by the Houston Press.

In addition, the 22nd annual Prairie Dog Blues Fest will once again offer a rockin’ party, killer blues tunes and the perfect St. Feriole Island setting to kick back and celebrate life and live music. The festival begins at 5 p.m. Friday, July 26. On Saturday, music starts at 12:30 p.m. Gates open an hour early both days.

Each year, this friendly and locally-run festival brings thousands of people to Prairie du Chien who love good vibes and truly talented musicians. As always, 12 regional and internationally-renowned acts will come to the fest’s two stages to put on performances many have never experienced so intimately and casually before this.

Other highlights of the 2019 event will be southern soul rocker Nikki Hill, razor-sharp Chicago guitarist Toronzo Cannon, boisterous country tent revival fun with The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, the ZZ Top tribute band: Eliminator, and blues-rock guitar hero Anthony Gomes. Both Cannon and Gomes have slayed the blues fest stage during past festival in Prairie du Chien.

Also, back-by-popular demand for a funky party in Saturday’s beer tent is The Kris Lager Band from Omaha, Neb. This will be an opportunity to jam and groove with all of your friends, with a cold brew in your hand, for sure. These guys will have your ears ringing with entertainment at intervals throughout the day.

Here’s the full lineup:

Friday—5 p.m., Tas Cru & the Tortured Souls; 7 p.m. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band; 9 p.m., Toronzo Cannon; 11 p.m., Nikki Hill; Friday beer tent act, Ghost Town Blues Band
