Prairie rallies past Fennimore
Prairie du Chien had big rallies in the second and third innings to easily defeat visiting Fennimore 15-2 in five innings in the opening baseball game for both teams.
The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Prairie then rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the second and 9 more in the third to go ahead 14-2. They scored the final run in the fourth inning.
Prairie then went on to win by five-inning rule.
The Blackhawks pounded out 15 hits in the contest. The Golden Eagles had 5.
Gavin Gillitzer was 2x2 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Dylan Coleman was 1x2 with a run and 1 RBI. Grant Martin was 1x2 with 3 RBI. Clayton DuCharme was 2x4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Ryan McGrath was 3x3 with a run and 2 RBI. Jon Nicholson was 2x2 with 2 runs and an RBI. Tyler Smock was 1x3 with a run and 2 RBI.
McGrath was the winning pitcher. He fanned 2 and gave up 3 hits in 3 innings.
