Prairie archers
do well at Nationals
On April 28, four Prairie du Chien Archery Club students participated in a “warm-up” shoot to the National Competition called the Midwest Bullseye Shootout.
Many of the best shooters in the Midwest were there. Highlights of that shoot include Taia Dressler (5th grade) earning first place out of 28 elementary girls with a personal record of 274/300. This score beat her previous PR by 15 points. Also, Allison Davis (8th grade) shot a PR at that shoot of a 273/300 placing 10th out of 62 middle school girls.
At the National Archery in Schools Program Eastern National Competition in Louisville, Ky. from May 10-12, the Prairie du Chien archers continued their great season!
Taia Dressler shot a PR at Nationals in the 3D (266/300) and placed 31st out of 496 (top 6%). Taia shot a 267/300 in the bullseye which was 120th out of 1,652 (top 7%). Allison Davis (8th grade) tied her PR at Nationals in the 3D that she shot at state (279/300). She was 36th out of 868 (top 4%). Devan Jacobson (8th grade) hit a PR at Nationals in the 3D with a 273/300. He was 141st out of 920 (top 15%).
“Our archers had a fantastic time at Nationals and can’t wait to get back,” said Coach Brent Seamans.
