Dairy Princess, Little Miss Squirt candidates preparing for coronation
The Crawford County June Dairy Month Kick-Off Banquet will be held on Monday, May 28, at the Eastman Salem United Methodist Fellowship Hall. The night will kick off at 7 p.m. with a cheese and cracker social, where attendees can meet the candidates for the Crawford County Dairy Royalty contests. A ham meatball dinner prepared by the Eastman United Methodist Church will follow at 7:30 p.m.
The program will be filled with lots of delightful dairy tidbits such as the dairy promotion report, introduction of the Crawford County Dairy Breakfast host family, the presentation of the honorary dairy month chairpersons, and the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (formerly Wisconsin Milk Market Board) update.
The 2017 Crawford County Dairy Royalty will highlight the evening with their final messages covering their events. This year’s candidates will present prepared speeches as they are introduced, followed by the coronation of the 2018 Crawford County Dairy Princess and Little Miss Squirt.
This year’s contestants for Dairy Princess are Caitlin Nolan, 17-year-old daughter of John and Carrie Nolan of rural Prairie du Chien, and Rachel Kramer, 16-year-old daughter of Ray and Becky Kramer, of Eastman. This year will mark the 20th year for the Little Miss Squirt Contest; the candidates are Kristen Nolan, 8, the daughter of John and Carrie Nolan of rural Prairie du Chien, Breckyn Schlee, 8, daughter of Brad and Melissa Schlee, of rural Eastman, and Rita Sime, 9, daughter of Chad and Sarah Sime, of rural Gays Mills.
Tickets for the banquet can be purchased from any Crawford County Dairy Promotion member or by contacting Steve Achenbach at (608) 874-4400.
