Mildred Christianson
Mildred “Millie” Christianson, 89, of Edgewood, Iowa formerly of Froelich, Iowa died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospice Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born November 21, 1928, to Adolph and Mary (Johnson) Larson in rural Elkader, Iowa.
On January 29, 1948, Mildred was united in marriage with Millard Christianson. They later moved to Littleport to farm and start their family life farming. They moved to Froelich in 1961, where she lived until 2013. She enjoyed her grandchildren and being with friends, playing cards, reading and game shows.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Karen (Martin) Nissen of Cedar Rapids, Joan (Robert) Bolinger of Edgewood, Bradley (Linda) Christianson, and Kenny Christianson; five grandchildren, Angela (Gabe) Casanave, Billy Clark, Michael Bolinger, Darcey Bolinger-Valverde and Kenny Christianson Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Velma Berns of Elkader; brother, Donnie (Rita) Larson of Elkader; cousins, nieces, nephews and new good friends, she made after moving to Edgewood.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Mary Larson; husband, Millard; a daughter, Wanda Lou Christianson; grandson, Christopher Clark; two brothers, Carroll Larson and Mervin Larson; and two sisters, Ruby (West) Rivers and Norma Harrington.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m.on Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa with Rev. Erika Kielstrup as the officiant.
Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.
