Therese Tornowske

Therese Tornowske, 59, of McGregor, died Wednesday, March 21, at Guttenberg Care Center, Guttenberg.
Therese lived in a group home in Elkader, from 1985 to 2015. She loved polka music, fishing, Native American memorabilia and doing latch hook and beadwork. Therese had two favorite dogs, Soup Hound and Sarah. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Therese is survived by her brother, Tony Tornowske, of Dubuque; niece, Hope (Nick) Tornowske-Lareau, of Manchester, N.H.; nephew, Matthew Tornowske, of Pittsburg, Penn.; aunt and uncle, Nancy and Joe Donlon, of Luana; a life-long friend, Jody (Juno) Chesebro, of Janesville, Wis.; and many cousins.
Therese was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jessie Tornowske; and aunt and uncle, John and Bettie Coobs.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 25, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, McGregor, with Rev. William Gentry as the officiant. There will be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Sunday. Burial will be at a later date at Monona Cemetery, Monona. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice and Rise Ltd. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, is helping the family with arrangements.
