Linda Kelly, 73, of St. Olaf, Iowa, formerly of McGregor, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 14, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. 

 

Linda Lou was born Dec. 29, 1944, to Lloyd Robert and Dorothy Anna (Kautman) Meana in McGregor, Iowa. She graduated from McGregor High School.

 

Linda was united in marriage with Roger LeRoy Kelly on Aug. 8, 1964 at St. Pius Catholic Church-Cherry Mound near Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union. Linda farmed with her husband and also worked at MPC in Prairie du Chien and White Springs Supper Club in McGregor, Iowa.

 

Linda enjoyed camping and fishing most weekends when her kids were growing up. The time spent at the campgrounds bring back fond memories. She was an avid euchre player and you would find cards in her hands at many family functions. She loved her Sunday night bingo. She also enjoyed sneaking to the casino and lunch with her family members on the boat. But most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

 

Linda is survived by her children, Kim Kelly, of Dubuque, Iowa, Cheryl (Brian) Rodenberg, of McGregor, Iowa, Bonnie (Rodney Cook) Kelly, of McGregor, Iowa, Frank (Sara) Kelly, of St. Olaf, Iowa, Bill Kelly, of St. Olaf, Iowa, Christopher Kelly, of St. Olaf, Iowa, Bekki Kelly, of St. Olaf, Iowa, Sarah (Marvin) Kelly-Walters, of McGregor, Iowa; grandchildren Allison (Kevin) Hoffman, Blake Rodenberg, Robert (Sara) Wiemerslage, Danielle (Dustin) Becwar, Austin (Alycia) Kelly, Neil Kelly, Ben Kelly, Elliot Kelly, Autumn Kelly, Brooklyn Kelly, Cole Kelly, Amanda (Travis) Garlow, Kristin Walters and Kellie Walters; her great-grandchildren Harrison, Thea, Lilly and Connor; her siblings, Patsy (Adrian) Kinley, Rita Graham, Jim Meana and Sharon “Sis” (Michael) Strnad; siblings-in-law, Mary (Joe) Kruse-Emerson and Joan (Don) Ewing; and a niece, Sue Tinkham, who was like a sister.

 

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Roger on Dec. 10, 1982; daughter, Lisa Ann Kelly; her parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Meana; and her siblings, Betty Tinkham, John Meana, Shirley Meana, Donald Meana, Joan Kinley, Jerry Meana and Ruth Ann Meyer.

 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Service on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor. Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before Mass at the church on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at St. Mary Catholic Church, McGregor, Iowa with Rev. Nils de Jesus Hernandez as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Pius Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa, is helping the family with arrangements.
