RV tops Prairie boys

River Valley defeated Prairie du Chien 54-47 in a Southwest Wisconsin Conference boys basketball game Friday night.

River Valley led 28-16 at the half, but Prairie du Chien came back to take the second half 31-26.

River Valley improved to 6-4 overall and 4-0 in the SWC. Prairie fell to 5-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference action.

Mark Welter scored 11 points for Prairie du Chien. Gavin Gillitzer netted 9. Hunter Davis and Mason Kramer each added 8.

Prairie du Chien will next host Westby on Jan. 9.
