George E. Wallin, 68, of Boscobel, passed away on Monday, Jan. 1, at his home, with his wife of 50 years by his side. 

 

George was born on Jan. 27, 1949, in Gays Mills, the son of Leo and Annetta (Colson) Wallin. He married Kathryn Schiltz on Dec. 2, 1967, in Marshall.

 

He is survived by his wife Kathy Wallin, of Boscobel; a son, Jason (Lori) Wallin, of Boscobel; three daughters, Deanna (Todd) Sander, of Wauzeka, Lisa (Bill) Kapinus, of Wauzeka, Mary (Mike) Drake, of Oregon; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother Ronald (Karen) Wallin, of Seneca; two sisters, Anna Mae (Marvin) Fritz, of Kendall, and Mary (Bill) Emler, of Muscoda; one sister-in-law Ann Wallin, of Mt. Sterling; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother John Wallin; and one nephew Todd Wallin. 

 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m., at Century Hall in Wauzeka, with Pastor Joel Oines officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 6, from 11 a.m., until the time of service at Century Hall in Wauzeka. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family is preferred, which will be donated to local charitable organizations, focusing on cancer assistance and outdoor mentoring programs.
