River Ridge beats C-FC in wild affair
River Ridge beat visiting Cochrane-Fountain City in a nonconference back and forth, high scoring football game in Bloomington Friday night.
The Timberwolves got on the board first with a 51-yard run by Tyler Millin and a 2-point pass from Cole Crubel to Ryan Redman to grab an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.
Blake Crubel scored on a 20-yard run and the 2-point run with 8:25 to play in the first period to increase the margin to 16-0.
Cochrane-Fountain City scored on a 12-yard pass and a 2-point conversion pass to cut the margin to 16-8 with 6:16 to go in the first period.
The Pirates scored on a 72-yard pass and the 2-point play was good to tie the game at 16-16 with 4:29 to go in the first quarter.
The Pirates scored on a 2-yard run and the 2-point conversion pass was good to give them a 24-16 lead with 7:22 remaining in the second quarter.
Millin went in from 2 yards out with 5:37 left in the half as River Ridge pulled to within 24-22.
With 44 seconds remaining in the half, Cole Crubel found Redman in the end zone from 2 yards out as River Ridge regained the lead 28-24.
C-FC scored on a 72-yard run at 11:03 of the third period to take a 30-28 advantage.
Cole Crubel ran it in from 5 yards out and Millin ran in the 2-point conversion to make the score 36-30, River Ridge.
C-FC had a 20-yard TD run and a 2-point run at the 3:55 mark of the third quarter as the Pirates went up 38-36.
River Ridge did the final scoring of the game with 9:55 to play in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard pass from Crubel to Moravits, followed by a 2-point run by Crubel as the Timberwolves won 44-38.

Millen carried the ball 22 times for a whopping 223 yards and 2 touchdowns. Moravits had 7 carries for 85 yards. Cole Crubel rushed 9 times for 54 yards and a TD. Black Crubel had 8 rushes for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Moravits caught 3 passes for 27 yards and a TD. Ryan Redman hauled in 2 passes for 23 yards an a TD. Millin had 1 catch for 8 yards.
Millin was in on 12 tackles. Blake Crubel was in on 14. Colton Clark made 11 tackles. Redman was in on 9.
