PdC girls take 2nd

at Westby Invitational

The Prairie du Chien Girls had another amazing night on Tuesday. They placed second in an incredibly strong field of 21 teams at the Westby Cross Country Invitational.

Wisconsin Dells, the first-ranked team in the state, took first with 31 points. Prairie du Chien edged out Westby, another state ranked team, with 75 points to their 81.

Amber Huser placed sixth, Karly Jaynes 12th and Ella Hein 19th to earn medals.  Meg Katzung and Greta Hein both just missed medals in 21st and 22nd places, respectively. Karly, Meg, and Greta all had personal records (PRs) for the night. Faith Dillman was sixth for the team in a time more than a minute faster than her Darlington time. Jayden Jenks rounded out the varsity team.

The JV girls also had a strong performance. Madalyn Roche took almost a minute off of her PR to finish 14th in the JV race. Kendall Hill finished 31st and Harlee Eastman shattered her previous PR by almost 2 minutes for 35th place.

There were several PRs in the boys varsity race as well.  Blake Bartels led the boys varsity team with a time of 19:56 for 49th place. Jayce Sexton ran a PR to finished second for the team. Charlie Eastman and Collin Seeley were third and fourth, respectively, and each also ran PRs. Brady Bartels rounded out the boys varsity team in fifth.
