Ronnie L. Schlueter
Ronnie L. Schlueter, 75, of Wauzeka, Wis., passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation was Thursday, May 11, at the Garrity Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, Wis.
Funeral services were Friday, May 12, at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Prairie du Chien, Wis., conducted by Rev. James Weighner.
Burial was in the Wauzeka Cemetery in Wauzeka, Wis.
Ronnie was born Nov. 17, 1941, in rural Guttenberg, to Arthur and Berdina (Weidemann) Schlueter. He was baptized in the catholic faith at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Garnavillo. Ronnie graduated from MFL High School, Monona, in 1960. He then attended auto mechanic school in Omaha, Neb. He was united in marriage to Angela Thiese on June 11, 1969, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cedar Rapids. The couple was blessed with three children. Ronnie started farming in the Guttenberg area in 1962. They then moved to Manchester and Luana farms. Finally in 1983 they purchased their Wauzeka farm which is now owned by their son Scot. Ronnie farmed for 54 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed doing things with his grandchildren and tractor pulling.
Survivors include his wife, Angie of Wauzeka, Wis.; his children, Scot (Tonya) Schlueter of Mount Hope, Wis.; Marcia Schlueter of Wauzeka, Wis.; four grandchildren, Justine, Abbigail, Skyler, and William; two sisters, Elaine (Kurt) Biermann of Colesburg and DiAna (Dale) Werger of Garnavillo; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Schlueter of Gillette, Wyo.; one brother, Dennis (Clara) Schlueter of Guttenberg; brother-in-law, Robert Bishoff of Garnavillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew; sister, Karen and brother, Harlan.
