Anna Mae Barry
Anna Mae Barry, 88, of Colesburg, died on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 16, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home in Guttenberg and one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.
Interment was Guttenberg City Cemetery.
Anna was born on July 25, 1928, in North Buena Vista, the daughter of Leo and Rita (Schaul) Bird. Anna was raised in the area, and attended Clayton County rural school.
On Oct. 19, 1948, Anna was united in marriage to Frank Barry at the Immaculate Conception Parsonage in North Buena Vista. Together they farmed on the Barry Family Farm on Millville Road. Anna was also employed as a supervisor at Muters Plant.
Anna enjoyed gardening, flowers, yard work, having visitors, playing cards, and was a great cook.
Survivors include one brother, Eugene (Verna) Bird of Dubuque; sister-in-law, Ruth Bird of Guttenberg; and brother-in-law, Merlin (Eunice) Barry of Colesburg.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 1, 2014; four brothers, Merlin, Charles, Francis, and Clyde Bird; and two sisters-in-law, Germaine and Virginia Bird.
