Seneca defeated host Wauzeka-Steuben 41-37 in a Ridge and Valley girls basketball game Friday night.
The score was 20-15 in favor of Seneca at the half. Wauzeka-Steuben outscored Seneca 22-21 in the second half but it wasn’t quite enough as Seneca prevailed.
Tatem Baures led Wauzeka-Steuben with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Samantha Groom chipped in with 6 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
Wauzeka-Steuben is 4-4 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Seneca is 5-1 on the season and 4-1 in the Ridge and Valley.
Becky Trautsch had 11 points for Seneca and Alivia Salinas added 9 points.
Wauzeka-Steuben will next host Highland Dec. 22.
Seneca will next travel to Cassville on Dec. 21.
