Potosi defeats River Ridge on a rainy Homecoming
Potosi defeated host River Ridge 38-6 on a rainy Friday night for the Timberwolves’ Homecoming game in Bloomington.
Neither team scored in the first period, but Potosi got into the end zone on a 6-yard run in the second quarter and the 2-point run was good as the Chieftains went ahead 8-0, which would be the halftime score.
Potosi scored 22 unanswered points in the third quarter on a 2-yard run, a 2-point run, a 43-yard run, a 14-yard run and a 2-point run to increase the margin to 30-0.
The Chieftains scored on a 57-yard pass and a 2-point run in the fourth period to take a 38-0 advantage.
Ben Ertz got the Timberwolves on the board with a 1-yard touchdown run to make the final score 38-6.
River Ridge will next travel to Shullsburg on Saturday, Sept. 26 for a 2 p.m. ballgame.
