This weekend the War of 1812 returned to St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien. While no one was harmed in the battle, there were plenty of explosions to immerse every spectator in the Battle of Prairie du Chien.
Shots were fired by the invading British troops at Saturday’s War of 1812 re-enactment. Although the Prairie du Chien men fought valiantly, the battle’s outcome could not be changed.
