Carson Delane Beckett Sr., 72, of Elkport, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was Sunday, June 28, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, June 29, at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Michael Jackson.

Interment was at Garnavillo Community Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Carson was born on Sept. 24, 1942, in Clayton, the son of George and Georgianna (Brown) Beckett.

Carson received his education locally and for many years, worked as a machinist. He was united in marriage with Patsy Ann Glass and together they owned and operated the dance hall and tavern in Garber. In his free time, Carson enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Carson is survived by his children, Carson Delane (Susan) Beckett Jr; Lynn (Pete) Elliot, Janice Beckett, Vicki (Mike) Smith and Larry (Nancy) McKinney; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Anna Mae Meyer, Lou Ann (Reynold) Schmerbach, Marlin Beckett and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter, Brenda; one grandson, Steven Shellito; one sister, Emma Jean Eglseder; and one brother, Bill Beckett.
