Margaret Clark

Margaret Calvin (Baty) Clark, 93, formerly of rural Clermont, died Monday, June 29, 2015, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union. She was born May 22, 1922, in Walker, to Dale E. and Grace L. (McKee) Baty. Margaret received her education and graduated from Troy Mills, then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught Elementary Education K-8 in the local school districts in and around Troy Mills. During WWII, Margaret worked for a defense plant in Cedar Rapids.
She was united in marriage to Donald R. Clark on April 11, 1942. This union was blessed with six children.
Survivors include her children, Russell (Patricia) Clark of Waterloo, Randy (Carol) Clark of Clinton, Patricia (Russ) Parker of Cedar Rapids, Melinda Clark of Rochester, MN, Melissa Wilke of Elkader, Sherri (Peter) Niemi of Klamath Falls, OR; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters Bonnie Walton of Troy Mills and Beverly Clark of Cedar Falls.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband on March 25, 1997; brothers, Carl and Norman Baty; one sister, Marilyn Frazer and two grandchildren, Douglas and LeAnn.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. Pastor Andrea Mericle officiated. There was a visitation Friday from noon until service time at the church. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date.
