Rebecca A. Pfaffly
Rebecca Ann Pfaffly of Guttenberg, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Visitation was Friday, June 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, followed by a prayer service.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, conducted by Fr. John Haugen with Fr. Marvin Bries and other priests concelebrating.
Burial was at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Guttenberg.
Becky was born on March 22, 1951, in Lake City, the youngest child of Albert and Julia (Dowling) Jones Jr. Becky received her education and graduated from Manson High School in 1969. She later attended Iowa Central Community College and became a licensed Practical Nurse in 1975. For many years, Becky worked as the Director of Religious Education and Parish Secretary of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, Iowa.
Becky will be forever loved and cherished by her husband James Pfaffly; two daughters, Angelique Marie (Todd) Steege and Jennifer Rebecca (Nick) Glenis; and four grandchildren, Ivy (14), Xander (11), Zoey (10) and Connor (5).
In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, the family has requested memorials to benefit St. Mary’s Religious Education Programs. They may be sent to 510 S. 2nd Street, Guttenberg, Iowa 52052.
There is no question how many lives she has touched in her short time on this earth. She has made an indelible impression on everyone she met. Becky was known throughout this community for her loving and giving spirit, as well as her delicious baked goods. She will be forever in our hearts.
